Girls Inc. of Wayne County is proud to offer the VexIQ Robotics program for our 6th through 8th graders. This program provides an amazing opportunity for young girls to dive into the world of robotics, engineering, and teamwork. The VexIQ Robotics Competitions are a renowned global challenge held annually, organized by the Robotics Education & Competition (REC) Foundation. Each year, a new game is released, pushing teams to think creatively and strategically as they design, build, and program a robot best suited to meet the specific challenges of the game. The competitions are designed for two teams to collaborate during an exciting 1-minute match, striving to achieve the highest possible score. Every team at the competition has a chance to work with each other, continuing to score so their average for the competition is calculated. The teams with the highest averages move on to finals for the chance to bring home a trophy.

At Girls Inc. of Wayne County, our robotics team is dedicated to encouraging a passion for STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) among our participants. Our team attends multiple competitions each year, gaining valuable experience, honing their skills, and building confidence in the game.
